Vinaka. Moce. Thank you and goodbye Fiji.

Fiji from the airport
What an amazing place. The people, their land, their culture. A humbling experience I must say. From playing volleyball and becoming good friends with the locals to drinking Kava with them after being invited to their homes, it was more than just a vacation. A spiritual experience made it an even better one attending the Fijian Memorial of Jesus Christ. The locals here in general are spiritual with most of them being Christians. As kids, they are taught their families, friends, spirituality, and showing their love to others is most important. It’s a country where you feel it as soon as you step off the plane. I will definitely miss this place but it is time to move on. I definitely want to come back. As the locals say, Moce!(Bye).

Bula! From Fiji!

Cloudbreak
When I first arrived in Nadi, Fiji I had no idea what to expect and to be honest I was a little lost specially since I got here at 5am. I refused to take a taxi only because it was $50 to go where I wanted to go as oppose to a $2.50 bus ride with the locals which made the experience a whole lot richer. So I arrived in this village called Momi about a 1 hour ride from the airport. I booked my stay here only because it was facing a famous surf break CloudBreak by Tavarua, which by the way I surfed! What a heavy wave! Not to mention the razor sharp coral reef only a few feet below. The water is so clear you could see everything 20ft deep clearly. It’s so beautiful. This entire island is beautiful and rich in nature which is something I have always appreciated.
