And the journey continues..Piha, New Zealand

When your traveling alone for a while and haven’t seen close friends or family in a while, you could have your down days every once in a while. There is also days where you say to yourself: “I wish I could have my family/friends here to see this too.” But its these “up” moments that make you want to keep going and see more. The key is to stay busy. I went to Piha on a pretty lonely day and boy did it blow me away. I went to Piha from Auckland, New Zealand and its about a 45 minute drive west of Auckland. I totally recommend it and would say its worth the drive. Well Piha was one of the spots where you look out and think to yourself: “Wow, I cant believe I’m here.” I know I haven’t seen much of New Zealand yet but I’ve read and seen pictures of nothing but amazing landscapes and scenery. I’m super excited to go explore more. As I make my way down around the north Island and the South Island, I will be posting more must see spots in New Zealand.

  1. DUDE. You’re taking the dream trip! It’ll be over before you know it. Soak it all in, and we’ll have a badass home coming party when you get back. Get a good book to read for those bored lonely moments. “The Sun Also Rises” is a good travel book… but “On The Road” is better. If you have an address I can send you a copy ahead I’ll try and hook it up.

    1. Thanks dude! The last thing on my mind right now is for this to be over. I’m having the time of my life! Party soudns Greeeaatt! lol I’ll look into those books. Some days you have your bored moments which may lead to loneliness but you got to keep moving. I’ve learned that the key is to stay busy and keep moving. Havent even been close to home sick yet haha. Dude if you need anything txt me at that google number. Be safe. Peace!

  2. Friends and Family are here traveling with you! This website is an amazing way to share all your experiences. Keeping busy is the key… and keep on moving! If you stay in one spot too long you might get stuck, but at the same time you don’t want to rush it. Get to know the place and make great friendships. Balance is important just like in all things. As the weeks pass by homesickness will fade away… traveling will become normality. It will be your way of life! And when you come back… everything will pretty much be the same except for YOU. Seeing the world utterly changes your perspective.
    Keep on posting!

  6. Dude, we miss you too but don’t get all melancholy on us. I believe most of us are trying to live vicariously through you and these “down days” just don’t work for us so chin up! 🙂 Haha JK Remember Prov. 17:17, with that in mind, when you’re feeling blue get in contact with us. Know we’ll always be here for you, miss you and can’t wait see you again.

Now regarding Piha… What a beautiful PLACE!! And that spot looks totally surfable. Actually, most of the ocean pics you’ve sent while in New Zealand have lines just rolling in. Gorgeous! Enjoy it!

    Mad love,
    J

Only when I listen to Smashing Pumpkins and over looking the ocean on a cliff do I get a little melancholy, but its a good melancholy, a pensive one. Suuuurrreeemmmmmaannn!!
